GENERAL TECH - Spring is here! Time to change the air in your tires

My GF's sister is driving her Z31 on the interstate and another driver points to her front tire and says it's going flat. So she pulls off the highway into a big 4-bay auto repair place. The owner sends one of his guys out to check the tire - so he removes the wheel and puts it in a water bath to find the leak.

The owner tells her, “For 40 bucks (39.95) we can do a complete air change on the car.” She asks what that means and he tells her, "If your car sat outside all winter in the cold and wet, the air in your tires gets old and stale and doesn't work right. It deteriorates the tires over time and leaks out. So we empty and refill all four wheels with clean air. Tire makers never tell you about this because they make more money. If you change the air now it can save you from more problems later on."

She tells him the car is garaged all year - plus her husband does all the maintenance work on it. She pays him $20 for plugging the nail hole in her tire - and drives off.

You can’t make this stuff up.

I'm surprised the guy didn't try selling her a new henway.

I bet a new henway is part of their blinker fluid package deal. Only $49.50 with a fill-up.
