So I just bought this 300zx from this questionable person. He gave it a lot more credit than the car deserves. Although I got it for cheap! When i first got the car, the lights wouldn't go down (1 anyways) and they wouldn't turn off. So when i got them to turn off, they won't turn back on. Cracked it open and looked at it and what do i see? Heres some pics!





So, okay there must be some kind of short in the driver's side headlight. I don't know, could be a ground, but it seems like something more serious.

As I was checking out the wiring harness or beginning to, i found this!

I have no idea what it is or where it goes do, but I know it goes into the distributor and it has been replaced, see that red hose.....

Anyways, My lights won't turn on its either the ground or some freyed wires.

 

Usually, headlight issues are the result of a bad headlight switch. It looks to me like the previous owner is an idiot and tried to jerry rig something, and not be successful.

Best to try to remove the excess wiring and replace the switch.

 

wow, a reply, ummm where is the headlight switch, and how will I go about replacing it???

Also, do i have to have the motors plugged in, in order for the headlights to turn on?
