S30 mirrors on Z31
 

ok, i'm seriously thinking about doing it. i was just wondering what you guys think. here's a pic...oh, and my car is the '86 model, blue.

well, those are not S30 mirrors so what is your question?

...you want the S30 style Fairlady mirrors out on the fenders in the same location as the Z31 in the picture?

Those black mirrors in the pic look like the generic "JDM YO Fender mirrors" off of eBay.

the look like s130 mirrors.

Don't do it!! I don't think it goes with the Z31 and you have a sweet looking Z31.

but, yeah, w/e. im not familiar with the differences of the mirrors. but the thought just popped in my head and looked for anybody else that's done it. i kinda thought the mirrors didn't match the lines of the car but idk...

I like it! It makes the car look chewy.... like bubble gum. But at the same time it reminds me of diarreah cuz of Pepto Bismol

Mismatched fenders, hood, headlights, bumper, etc.

I noticed that as well Zbum bc at first, I was like damn i need that lip for my 86, but the noticed the 87-89 bumper but they didn't convert the headlights nor hood so it looks like shit. So yet again I'm disappointed on the search for a lip lol.

Actually, it's backwards. For some reason, this person took an 87-89 model and put the fenders, hood, and headlights from an 84/85 onto the car.

So now the front fenders don't match the rear fenders and the bumper doesn't match the new hood and fenders and lights.

Also, with fender mounted mirrors, you're significantly reducing your ability to see behind you. While they are easier to glance at, you've narrowed your view to the rear because of the angle. Even with convex mirrors, you're still not going to get the big picture.

just wondering if there was something else to it. i'm going for an old school look and style so =P

but i do think i'm gonna pass on these mirrors...i've lost taste in them lol

That pink Z is disgusting. From a practical sense having the mirrors in that position might be helpful in a "race" scenario enabling the driver to keep their eyes forward while giving a quick glance to the rear. However, day to day navigation would be a little dicey. What AZ-ZBum said...

I did this... New style (CF) mirrors mounted ol' skool (pedestal) method. It's a little different, but, still very functional.

My 23 year old daughter loves the pink Z. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead driving a pink car.
