digi tachometer issue
Hi guys! My digi dash tachometer Is doing something weird after an engine overhaul. The lines that move up and down with pedal movement are stuck as if I am holding down the accelerator. The lines never come down like the gas pedal is being held down. It did not do this before the overhaul. How can I fix this?

on a turbo they show boost. sensor is on the left front wheel well inside the engine compt.
May be the same on n/a. look for rectangular black box says something like boost sensor or some such.
may be disconnected electrically or vac hose is detached.

Ok i been looking for this black box on the passenger side wheel well and cannot not identify the boost sensor. Can someone put up a picture of the sensor so i can see if the problem is a bad hose or electric connection issue?

What car ?
You never posted details, what year car ? What options, everyone must be psychic ? Just because you post in the z31 forum, all the years vary, so you must tell us the year engine and trim package to get correct help.

sorry 1985 300zx turbo. i found the boost sensor on the driver side under the ignition coil but no hose is connected or near it. Where on the manifold does the other end of the hose connects to from the sensor?

run a line
There has to be an open T or free connector close, most likely just needs manifold vacuum, if you need to, go to a parts store, get some vacuum line and some T's in the accessories section and add a line in. In the FSM is a test for the sensor, it is in the electrical section, meters and gauges, digital combo meter, boost sensor check

why in the ten thousand names of god would you look on the passenger side when I said it is on the left??? even if RHD left is still left. you will probably find an unused spud for the hose after the throttle body. if left unplugged doesn't help the running of the car. vacuum leaks are the bane of the FI engine
