Last month I was driving my oldest son's 82 280ZX 5 spd home and when I came off the freeway to a 4 way stop to go straight there are 2 lanes with the right one ending about 200 feet after the stop sign. Well I was in the thru lane and some jerk in a big truck pulled along side of me. The truck was either a Dodge or Ford (U.S. vehicle). Well when I started off he punched it, and I don't know what happened next as I punched it also. I left him and he had to back down as his lane was gone. However not to be unfriendly I stuck my left hand out the window and waived bye, and didn't lookback. The funny part of this story I hadn't really tried to see what the car would do before, and it hadn't had a tune up since we got it. The Z's still got it. Have a great day.

I don't see what the big deal is...I beat people all day long with my 280zx N/A Auto....granted all the people I race are on bicycles, rollerblades or scooters J/K Congrats on the win man!!!!!

 

well shady. I know my Z is stock. but i am waiting to see what it has. And i would Love to race against another Z, Just to see what she can do. I think i mihgt have a Z31 to go against. it's a stock N/A 5 speed wiht a Unexperanced driver. so i think it might be a good lil race. Plus i want to stomp my sister's ***!

 

my Z runs like crap, since it burns oil (4th and 5th oil control rings are bad) but she still is pretty fast. I was driving back home from the grocery store, and these civic's and an integra pull up next to me, and begin revving their rice can mufflers. I smiled, and revved back at them (I've got just a straight pipe from my exhaust manifold out to a melted glasspack). They laughed at me, because smoke was coming out of the exhaust (oil) and I could see them mouthing "that thing's slow". So, I gave them the head nod of "lets run 'em then", and when the light turned green, we went for it. I gave them a little bit of a jump, since i didn't want to squeal my tires, but when I took off all out, I left them in the dust.

You should have seen the look on their faces when my tired Z ate their rice rockets alive. It was a glorious event.

 

thats the best thing ever^^^. Yeah when i was on my way home from nismos last weekend, some evo rev'd at me, i was going to smash on him, but remembered nismo broke my radiator hose, and i had a 100+ mile drive home....and didn't wantto push it.

 

You'll have a hard time with the EVO, but the typical Honda/Acura should be a pretty easy race if it is stock. When they get modified (more than just a fart can muffler & 8" tip!) they start to get faster, but the torque of the L6 will usually smoke the little Honda D15/D16/D18.

 

yeah i no, i should of tried but didn't want to laugh so hard when i smoked him with some hot chick in the pass. seat, plus i had no power steering and a hole in the hose...i think i could of kept up, until he shifted....lol
