Wooooo!!

http://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/854979737.html

^ I'm really excited about this. I don't care about how many miles are on it etc. I think I found my dream. Anyone know the shipping from New Haven, CT to Pittsburgh PA? I'm in school right now about to leave study hall. (yes i look up Z's and z parts/info in my spare time:icon_super: lol

I'm so pumped. how hard would it be to convert to a manual? if its auto.

ANY ONE KNOW OF RHD datsuns I'll take em!

hoov100 10-20-2008 11:07 AM

theres one forsale on the sandiego craigslist but he want WAY too much. and converting auto to manual is easy, but you would need to go with custom pedals or an aftermarket pedal box.

snwbrderphat540 10-20-2008 11:29 AM

no you wont hoov. you just get the brake/clutch pedal assembly from a manual ZX the rest of the cars are exactly the same, its time consuming but very easy and straight forward nothing custom is needed.

Bleach 10-20-2008 11:33 AM

if anything just drill new holes in the firewall the mount it.
RHD still has clutch on left, gas on the right.

snwbrderphat540 10-20-2008 11:36 AM

lol ^^^^ i forgot it was RHD lol. yeah if anything you might need to assist in the mounting procedures and bend your own hardline but thats easy stuff.

Man if you got that you'd be my hero. I've seen a couple RHD Fairlady 280Zs but they're always 2+2s. It'd be awesome to see someone with a 2-seater RHD fairlady Z.

...with a huge turbo hanging off the left side of the engine that would normally not clear a steering column.

snwbrderphat540 10-20-2008 04:26 PM

custom frontward mount turbo header... YUM!!!

duowing 10-20-2008 04:31 PM

Bleach I like your thinking. How about Twin-Turbo? The Biggest two turbos you can fit. But seriously that would be pretty cool. As everything important is on the driver's side in the US and I never find myself needing to get down far on the passenger side.

snwbrderphat540 10-20-2008 04:33 PM

twin turbo is going backwards imho on an inline 6 motor

Bleach 10-20-2008 04:52 PM

ya, twins have their purpose.... but on an inline its a lot of piping all on one side. ESPECIALLY on the L-series where it is not a crossflow head.

you often see people run a large single turbo on an RB26deT(T) slightly more lag but less stuff to go wrong and still plenty of power.

duowing 10-20-2008 05:26 PM

It seems like even on most Twin Turbo cars people have a tendency to switch to a larger single turbo setup when they build for all out power.

hey..... thats manual. ass. :D thats alot of rust. shipping if it drives will be around 5-8 hundred bucks depending on many variables. DAS is s good company.

SHADY280 10-22-2008 07:17 AM

nice, i saw that one a little while ago, offer 1200 bux and see what he comes back with, its been for slae for some time now. id love a rhd s130, but i got too many dattos now.

Bleach 10-22-2008 07:51 AM

This is the same car! I got these pics off an ad several years ago.

With how rare the 2-seater RHD 280ZX is, I wonder if its the only one in the USA. Also, its remotely possible that it is a converted Z.

Bleach 10-22-2008 09:25 AM

Just buy it!

speed280zx 10-22-2008 01:55 PM

it might be a converted one! idk i was thinkin bout it in my z and how the e-brake is on the passenger side. i was thinkin bout that n idk if a true rhd one has it on that side as well or if theyre a complete flop.... none the less... BUY IT!:icon_kidra:

davidjoe007 10-22-2008 02:05 PM

Wow...first RHD Z I've ever seen. Anyone ever drive a RHD car in a LHD world? I think it would trip me a out the first few times.

All the older Z's had them on the right side. They are designed to be close to the driver but Nissan didn't care about us LHD people enough to change them. I also think that is why the gas filler is on the right side of the car.

In a 350Z, they are on the driver's side of the console for both LHD and RHD.

KingDatsun1 10-22-2008 03:55 PM

I was just looking at the speedo and it goes up to 80 mph? ...if it was from nihon it would be in kmh? maybe he converted the speedo?

speed280zx 10-22-2008 04:49 PM

Hmm idk. I think for it to be legal in the states if you have one shipped you have to swap the speedo to read mph if it doesn't already. But then again I just brought that off the top of my head so don't quote me or nothing lol

lww 10-22-2008 08:44 PM

Nope, as long as the speedo had both MPH and KPH it was legal in the states. For some reason, that one has the US 80 MPH "limited" speedo. Maybe his old one had a problem and he had to replace it...
