Can any of you tell me what is the best book or place to go to get wiring info on a 280zx 81. Bought the car but someone has hashed up most of the wiring under the dash. need to reconstruct all of it, or most of it.

well, if its that bad then consider finding an untouched 81 280zx in a junk yard or from someone online and replace the wiring harness

the 79-83 Hayes manual is a great manual and they can be found very cheap on eBay. sometimes as low as $3-5.
The best manual is the 1981 Nissan Factory service manual. You could pay $40-80 for one if you can even find one.

 

Are they easy to replace? I have not done much wiring other then sound systems.
