Window Winter Blues….Fog problems

Well with the colder temps hitting I have been having a hard time keep my back glass see through. The back wiper is not functioning, when I turn the **** for the rear wiper instead it sprays washer fluid on my driver side front windshield. I don’t think my rear defrost is working either but it is hard to tell as the area it has to defrost seems to be the same size and temperature of Antarctica. When I turn it to on the red light does not turn on above the switch. Any suggestions as to where to start?

Is there anything you guys use to keep the inside of your windows from fogging up, like a rainx product? The only vents that seem to work are my upper dash defrost vents. Nothing seems to come out of the side ones or anywhere else for that matter. Are there linkages that could be broken? Thus I need help with the fogging problem I have, On the bright side my front windshield stay clear and I use a rag to clear the driver side window., 2 out of 6 windows fog free leaves my glass a third full at least

Check and see if you have continuity through the rear defroster grid on the window, and if you are getting power to the grid.
The washer fluid res has two pumps on it (or it should) one goes to the rear window the other two the front. I can't remember which is which but from what you are saying it sounds like someone did a quick fix to get washer fluid on the windshield?
And as for the vent issue, check the vacuum lines under the dash. You probably have a cracked or missing vacuum hose in the mess of lines under there.

When the fogging gets too bad I usually crack a window to help get some of the moisture out of the air inside. I remember the first year driving my Z the inside of the window would frost over in the colder months, ahh good times

Is the back wiper suppose to come on with the front wipers? Or is the little **** by the light dimmer for the rear spray and wiper? I have quite a bit of gremlins to work out.

1)rear wiper doesn't work
2)rear windshield washer does not spray
2)rear defrost and indicator light don't come on
3)front vent control wont do any thing but upper defrost
5)radio blows fuses
6)rear antenna doesn't work
7)mirrors don't move

Well I bench tested the washer fluid motors and both work great. when I switched the two output tubes it sprayed in the rear. So it looks like I have a wiring problem in between my wiper control on the steering column and the front washer pump motor. My connections at the motor are solid I don't know where else to look. I guess it could be the switch on the wiper wand itself

you are in the s130 forum but you haven't said what auto you have. There are differewnces in the years and trim levels that might give us a better idea of what you are talking about. but sounds like you need to clean out the contacts on the multifunction unit.

Do you have the defroster? That will work too. Not as fast, but it will work.
