Wide band as narrow band?

I anyone using an Innovate wideband with their stock ECU running the narrow band output to the ECU?

Widebands aren't meant to be used continuously...most only have a 1500 hour life. I went through 3 in 3 years, with my race motor.

Really? So why does Innovate use the Bosch wideband sensor used as the OEM O2 sensor in Volkswagons for hundreds of thousands of miles or am I missing something here?
