where the hell is fubar?

anyone know? I just bought another zxt, [local for 300 bucks] rust free totally and a stroker cam off ebay..and a new in the box, never installed P90 head.....fubar, you still alive? I need some help here...!
kenny.

and fubar works good! Last I heard from him he was working for one of my customers. Chuck E Cheese. Haven't seen him in a while. He could have quit his job and gotten another one.

fubar is missing in action.

I meant to say I bought a [ld28 crank] off ebay, not a cam...to use in a stroker motor I might build and I know fubar was looking for one a while back.

Where I been?

business is booming, not too much free time. zxt project has been on back burner until now.

Pulled the engine and tranny to detail engine compartment. Pulled fenders, getting a small sand blaster that uses sand or baking soda to tackle very minor surface rust, underneath the fenders.

Sent the head to machine shop for sprucing up. Detailing the engine as we speak.

Picked up a zxt on the cheap. This is the one I'll probably gut for the 260z.

Has perfect black interior panels....swastika wheels with centers intact. 285k miles, probably needs rebuild, haven't got it started yet. That's why I got the LD28 crank, have to pick it up early in the week. Ebay auction, local seller.
Will post some pictures.
I now have 3 p90a heads....1 rebuilt 1 good condition 1 in the car I just bought.

I will probably win the bid on the p90 head as the guy who outbid me by 5 dollars is located in Australia, and the shipping to Australia is over 500 bucks! 885 bucks total with shipping to Australia. Unless this guy wants it really bad, I don't see him following through. So I'll buy it if I can.

It's a long way to fubars house, and I cannot remember his last name....

I wish he would come out to play, I hear he has a full time job as a mechanic!

What the heck, I'll probably drive to his dad's house to see if he is still in the area.

Well, checked employee pay stubs, yep, there he is...lets see...try the phone number.....disconnected...hmmm.

So I drove out to Bugtussle I mean waaay back in the woods and sure nuff, theres fubar working on his blue 280zx.

He replaced a valve in the head.

He's doing good. Is working on the local fire department, and doing remodeling work.

His family only has cell phones, let the land line go...so he has no internet for now.

Said to tell all "ole blue" is still running. And he misses not being on here.

Trying to get him to come help on the Z projects in exchange for some dead presidents and some parts...

kenny.

you obviously have not driven in one. talk about tighten up on the brown eye. great mod to do $$$ but if u get the ld crank and get forge pistons with a after market/custom ground cam, with 240z rods and of course a ported/polished head for not as much as what msa wants >_< with turbo goodies. hmmmmmmmmm wet dreams.

your the first person that supports the idea, an admin on here says it isnt and so do many other people. if you think about it, alot of turbo cars that are hitting the highest numbers possible for that engine are still running stock bore. look at john shepherd.

not worth it??

Well, I'm suppose to pick it up today. The crank that is.

Now for the fun part...the car I just bought seems to be in better cosmetic shape [no rust] than the one I have been working on....

wtf? I may end up gutting the car I just bought and putting all the goodies on her instead. joy joy....

use the one in better shape for a zx and part the other one for yer 260. you'll love the turbo 260 as long as your is more reliable than mine, it pulls so nice.

stroker cam

stroker cam. parts car. rust on hatch only so far....
black interior...what do yall think? I'll have to post pictures of the car I'm restoring now. Seems less to do with the body on the new parts car. Came with t top bags and shades. No rust found so far except on hatch. The other car has a perfect hatch. possibilities

no dents, not even a door ding, at least not that I can see.

fubar says hi! I talked to him today he is using prepaid wireless??? 10 cents a minute???
edit:
I just made these pictures a bit lager, not bad for 300 dead presidents.

intercooler

from Isuzu, large NPR. Maybe too large. the thing in front is trans oil cooler from truck.

Read on forums about that intercooler, now I think it is too big. You'd need a turbo way bigger than what I currently have, too big a pressure drop I'd think, using this one.

For later project, with the LD28 crank, possibly. Need to find P90 head. I have 3 P90a heads...

There are plenty Volvos at pull a part here with the intercooler you are talking about. I also thought that that was the right choice, but read about the NPR intercooler and looked for that one instead.

It is huge for this car.

which car?

Which car to gut and which one to restore? How about restoring both? What do yal think?

I still have my 260Z that nothing is wrong with except it too needs to be restored. hmmm.

Maybe I can restore the better of the two turbo cars. Then keep or sell the left overs.

Use the premium parts for the 260Z project?

The black car is new and I mean new underneath mechanically. Installed are new wheel bearings, new rotors, new metallic pads, new brake lines and all and I mean all of the suspension was disassembled and painted, new poly urethane bushings installed. Sway bars, the works. New Tokico shocks/struts, lowering kit. New rack and pinion, new rack and pinion bushings from Nissan, new ball joints, the works.

The engine is pulled and is awaiting either a new cylinder head or the rebuilt P90a that I had at the machine shop which came on her. The car has documented 95K when I purchased it. The engine has been detailed and the T-5 tranny cleaned. The fluids have all been changed.

Jim Wolf ecu. Ford Cobra maf sensor, Pallnet fuel rail, 450cc injectors, Modified wiring harness. Jeff Priddy made the 3" custom stainless steel downpipe, and has been consulted, I want to avoid mistakes of others..lol... http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/280zxt/ magnoflow muffler, 240SX throttle body, stainless steel hex head bolts everywhere, ARP bolts, ect, ect, ect.

Advise anyone?

soley depends on what you want to do with the 260, you want it really fast then part one of the turbo cars for it, if you want a restored 260, finish up one of your zxt build, then just restore the other sell it and dump the money from it into the 260.
