So has anyone heard of this video game with a 240Z in it? It was only released in Japan as far as I knew and all of a sudden today I see it at an arcade! nice...

Yup, I've got both the S30, with the title "White Mistress" and another card with the "secret" Z31 (must use a code to get it). Of all the racing games I've played, this' the only one I ever used Manual on. I really like the shifter!

 

240? You can drive a 280ZX in GT4! And man does it handle sweet. Can't get much power out of it though, so you gotta gear it up real good. I used it to win all the special events! Now if I just wasn't so lazy I might actually do the endurance races so I can finish the game

 

just get a really good car with hard tires and set it on auto pilot . . . kinda sorta really cheap but it works

 

It just feel like cheating. But I guess there's nothing wrong with that. That's what I did for the 24 hrs Nurburgring (or whatever) so I could get the Formula Car for the Forumula car race in Extreme mode. The car even made it's own pitstops and everything. I forgot I had the race going after awhile, and when I finally remembered I thought I would be screwed because the car hadn't pit. Lo and behold the thing was pitting whenever the tires got too worn out. I don't know why, but I'm obsessed with Aspec points now. So I try get the most points I can out of each race, which isn't good practice in Bspec mode (almost gaurantees a loss).

 

Ya, GT4 has a 280zx but they call it a 280z and you can't get a turbo.

 

you can also get a Fairlady 240ZG in GT4. Just beat the Nissan special events, and it'll give you a 240ZG. I believe you have to beat the silvia events, which is pretty easy.

 

I don't think they used the term ZX in Japan. Just Z. And the S130 came out as a '78 in Japan also, that's why its a 1978 280Z that looks like it should say 1979 280zx. I was bummed when I took it to the tune shop and couldn't put a turbo on it though. Oh well, it makes up for it inhandling. I beat cars with alot more horsepower just because the damn thing handles so well. With a few tweaks of the suspension, diff, and trans. that car has earned me quite a few aspec points.

 

bleach, I play wangan (Version 2) all the time... it's been here at our arcade for about a year now. The 240 is pretty sweet. Awesome handling. It doesnt really hang with the other big cars (skyline, supra, rx7) but strange, the boss of the game is the 240... He smokes some *** too..

 

ok so this game sucks or I don't know how to play it.
I start out and youre on the road by yourself. The car revvs up strong through all the gears. Then suddenly this new challenger comes into play. He heads off and all of a sudden my car has a Honda engine... 1987 type.
No power at all so i downshift to 2nd, it very very slowly revvs up to redline. Shift into 3rd and the stupid thing can't even reach redline! Just sits there with the pedel floored trying to move. (I think this is a 6-speed) So I lose every time. I tried a couple times like this. no extra buttons to push or nitrous or anything. What is wrong with the game? ....the parking brake was not on either!

BTW, this is the arcade version.

Kinda hard to ram a 500hp car when you've got a 90hp Honda engine in your Skyline. No, he was long gone.

 

whoa whoa, bleach you're playing the OLLLLLD one... That game came out like 3-4 years ago. There was a part 2 released about a year ago (Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune) that is freakin awesome. You start out and pick what car you want (color, ect) and then it saves all your data on a thin memory card. As you progress through the game, you can upgrade every aspect of your car... although, it pretty much gives you two options (power or handling) body kits and all. The 240Z has a G-nose kit later on.

side note: the last boss is pacman driving a minivan

 

I might have to play that game just to see PacMan driving a freakin minivan. And as the boss no less . Do you get the minivan if you beat him? I've never played that game.

 

sega gt for xbox also has some old z cars in it too
