Vent Question

I have and I am sure most of you do also, a little lever next to our right knees under the dash that is one finger wide and says open on it...I know there are vacuum lines running to it as I had to hook mine back up when I got the car. I have closed it, opened it...played with it....but I notice no change at all when I mess with it. What exactly does it control....does it let fresh air from outside in or does it only work with the climate controls or does it control a secret hidden set of twin turbos??? If so they are not kickin in!!

I thought it was for fresh air in, but I could be wrong...

according to the in car manual, its for the feet, it opens or closes the vents for the foot area. on foot it bypasses that switch, but on say vents, it can open or close the foot vent

^ It's probably that or the secret twin turbos. But I'm thinking its probably not the turbos

My first 83 had that switch, but my second (present daily driver) didn't have it. I never could figure it out either. But i don't have one now, so i dont worry about it anymore. It must be the ejector seats handle like Rod said. Maybe that explains the cracked t-top on the driver side. The previous owner must have pulled the handle and forgot to remove the t-tops first. OUCH!!!

Well the T-Tops are actually supposed to come free when you pull the handle. Apparently they must've jammed.

Weird, when I pulled it the passenger launched out of the car. They weren't too happy about it
