transmission mount alignment
 

I've been working on an 83 zx manual NA. After taking out the bolts.on the motor and transmission mounts, I'm trying to figure out how to realign the tranny mount bolt into.the crossmember. Any advice?

You might want to jack the transmission up above the level of the cross member. Then, try rotating the trans on the jack until you can feel the bolt line up with the hole. I had the same problem about 3 days ago.

Agree did this an hour ago bolt up one side of the mount leave it loose jack up tranny locate 14mm bolt to hole in tranny mount shove it around till you get the other 17 mm bolt lower and tighten. . . . . . Hint have motor already bolted in. Locates tranny perfect. Jack handle under intake few bounces motor falls right on the mounts shove here n there lines up motor bolts. Job motor n tranny I did alone 25 mins :wasted:
