Tire Question
when i got the car it had some brand new rubber on it. but the size puzzled me.
185/65/14 on 6 spokes? why so small? will this effect drivability? should i replace them with recommended tire size, 205/70/14? |
Where did you get 205/70/14 as the stock size?
I believe 195/70R14 is stock. 205/70 will be wider and taller (use this: Tire size calculator). They will still fit though. |

faster acceleration.

stock size on most models was the 195/70. 205/70 will fit just fine, if you want you can go 225/60 all the way around, it fits and gives you better traction and handling. 235/60 will fit on the back which is what i did to combat wheel spin but then you can rotate tires and increase the life of the tires.

225/65 sounds really appealing. after driving my first 300 miles in the 280 i really dont like the feel of narrow tires. feels loose around the corners...or maybe its because i havent put on my tokicos yet.

New / stiffer suspension and bushings helps a lot with body roll and control. |
best upgrade ever is new suspension bits. drives like it did new. and you put 225/65, thats too tall go 225/60 it almost matches stock diameter.

225/60 is what i meant. im having a hard time finding tires in 225/60/14. |
If you don't have $160 for suspension, how do you have $400+ for tires? Especially $400+ to replace "already brand new rubber" as you said.

Make sure you are using "R" not "/" for the tire size... |
