poll, i hope this is right, how many ppl are happy with the stock tail lights of the zx? i think they look terrible

z32 has the best tail lights! it has the best everything!

 

these are really easy to make and put any flat mount light u want in it

 

I like the stock 280ZX taillights. I guess I am just more into original parts. To each his own..

 

I have not seen a good version of authentic looking skyline tail lights on a Z yet. Maybe I just didn't search well enough?
I keep thinking about what to do with the tail lights, but haven't decided on anything yet.

 

you would have to bring thetail light area flush with the edge of the rear quarter and then french them in which would be alot of work.

 

Take some welding to do it right. Not sure it would be too hard, but it could look pretty cool.

 

I think the older 79-81 ZX Taillights look way better than the 82-83 lights.

In my opinion I think I like the way the taillights look on the 87-89 300ZX the best. Your normal taillights, but the way it's the bar across I think just looks the coolest. Then it's either the Z32 or the 240Z taillights, it depends on if I'm feeling retro or newer.

i saw a zx with r32 tails grafted on it.. it was nice

to do lights like mine is pretty easy i wish i had pics of how i did it but only mod on the car was taking a pair of pliars and bending the lip in all the way around. as u see in my avatar<== the black part is the sheet metal i added. u can insert any light in any config just by drilling and placing flush mounts with rubber gromets i choose vette style LEDS but there are alot of other shapes and sizes for this cheapy

I think the 280zx looks the best with either early or late tails. I think making the tail lights completely different is pointless and it takes away from the look of the car. Round tails do not fit the car whatsoever... makes it lok like a school bus imo.

 

thats where i disagree the stock lenses are the tackiest part on the car. but these are our opinions, i might p1ss ppl off when i say this but i think stock restororation is for ppl who cant create, no imagintaion/cop out, gotta be unique dont conform, rebel a lil
