Swapping from auto to manual

I finally found a 280ZX in the junk yard (I haven't been looking much, really) with manual heater controls.
After my practice on the dead brown 280ZX, I was able to get in there and rip that dash off in about 5 minutes. I'm pretty happy with myself. The heater system came out easy and is definatly not as complex as the auto heater in the dead brown 280ZX. (I did not remove that system; I have no use for it)

The front face of the controls is a little beat up but I can easily replace that later once this system is in and working good. This yard is usually pretty cheap but the guy charged me for every nitpicky little thing. Ended up being about $60 total plus tax for what you see here.

Sweet. I have a feeling the yards here would have charged a whole lot more for all that. they want 120 for a set of tail lights alone!

Hey bleach, could you do a write up on that? i have no heater and dont want one, but most of the equipment remains. i havent gone after it cuz the dash supposedly is a big problem for most.

Anyone want a brown dash in good shape? The center of the dash at the far forward point (almost out of view) has a small crack in it. The rest of that dash looked perfect. Right now its in the back of the car. I can go back and get it this week if they dont' crush the car. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll see what they want for it.

Anyone want cheap tail lights? This one had '79-81 style. Its a 2-seater hard top BTW. Brown/brown, really poor shape. L28 still in there. Fuel rail was used to prop up the hood. Rear hubs and brakes gone, front was still there.

Yeah that sounds like a nice dash! Let me know a price, and we will go from there!

Yes, you can remove the condensor in front of the radiator, and the lines going to and from the AC pump. Remove the AC pump, that little viewport thing that looks like a mini fire extinguisher, and where the lines to into the firewall you can unhook them. When I was removing the system from the parts car I saw how there is a center air container that another AC condensor is inside of. You can remove that condensor too and not only save weight but probably increase the air flow of your heater system. You would have to remove the dash first though.

Thats the evaporator, under the dash. And the the viewport thing is the receiver/drier. Just a little techy info for you because I'm bored.
