well.. my parents just had the new exaust put on my car.. and no they are springing for it thank god. it is sooooo quitet. i cant hardly hear it at 4600 rpm.. i cant even hear when to shift i have to actually look at the tak now..i was in first and i thought i was at 3300 rpms which is where i usually shift when im just cruzin. and i was almost at 5k.. it sucks. but when i layed into it i didnt notice a differance in acceleration than from the other exaust. and its good for being a sleeper, yet once agian i cant hear when to shift i have to take the second to look at the tak which i dont like.

 

mmm.... I just can't see myself being satisfied with anything but LOUD exhaust...

 

No doubt man, at least a nice tone to it! And that sucks about your exhaust Thermal! It probably sounds like a blender or vaccum cleaner ehh!! Old fogey sound, not what I want either! If you put headers on that stock exhaust, it would have a nice brum tone to it. That is what my '81 has, it goes shoom shoom etc...! But yeah he is quieter than a common one that they sound like. My '82 has more of a raspier tone to him. Hopefully I will get headers soon, and he should sound a little meaner!

 

yeah stock exhaust sucks ***.. you cant hear ****.. when i put my flowmaster on it it sounded 10x better and yea its keeping your ears tuned to the exhaust in knowing when to shift...

you should go snag an exhaust and a clamp kit and go out there in the middle of the night with a hack saw and if they ever say anything just be like.. it musta been one of those mysterious exhaust bandits.......

 

it doesent even sound like a blender... i mean i if im in traffic i literally cant hear my car. i cant tell if its running or not. unless i look at the tak. i wound it out to almost 5k today with traffic around me. i literally couldnt hear my car. my friend jeremy. (fast240z) said i should cut out a hole in the muffler pound out all the **** inside and weld the plate back on.. make it jsut straite pipe. then i should add header.. id even b happy with just that.

 

I have an 18" glass pack with a stock exhaust. When it's under load (uphill or up to 4th gear) it's pretty loud...but a deep loud, not annoying. At highway speeds (55 mph and up) it's pretty quiet...'till I exit and the pack has gotten nice and warm. Then it's LOUD at city driving speed...gotta turn up the radio a little...sometimes!

Damn, that sucks man, agreed w/ Jabo, I couldn't see myself satisfied w/ anything but a loud exhaust (not necessarily ricey, but at least deep and loud). I guess its just something to look foreward too once its paid off and totally yours. Did they say anything about doing anything else to the car?

 

ohh yes.. well i want to put on my glasspack.. cuz i like the way it sounds, i wana put on new header. after that i wana put a lighter flywheel. and then evuentally a new cam. but i gata pay it off first.

 

Dude, join the air force. go into like fuels or something. You get to drive around a gas truck all day on base, and those guys get like a $15,000 sign-on bonus. You'll get to go somewhere cool, and get out from your parents death grip. Plus you can have a good job, and free healthcare. did I mention FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS?????!!!! I would crap my pants if I had 15 grand. My job only got me like 4,000. Bought a plasma TV stupid... I was younger. Oh, what I would do with that kinda cash now....
