Rocker Arm Questions
Rocker Arm Questions
I am getting ready to do a new cam on my z, and am wondering if the Nissan rocker arms are worth $400. or if I can go with Beck Arnley for about half as much. I thought I heard something about reman rocker arms but cant remember where. The head is coming off to be milled and valve job, can I just get away with scuffing and reusing the old rockers somehow?
Dont use the old arms...it'll suck the life out of your cam. The Nissan arms ARE worth the $400...but that doesn't mean that you need Nissan arms. Unless this is a high RPM racing motor you're putting together do you really NEED the best rocker arms available??? If it were just for a street car, me personally, I'd just go for the B&A's. But thats just me. The area to pay attention to is where the pad is brazed to the body of the arm. If that looks good then thats really all you have to worry about.
I would go with the Beck Arnley's also. That is the kind of fuel injectors I have. And I have had them since February, and they haven't gave me any sign of trouble. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the rockers. But I will stand and support the B & A name.
Wow, what a coincidence; I'm about to purchase a rocker arm kit for my ZX. I recently bought MSA's camshaft stage II and the valve springs kit from them. However, I noticed that they increased the price on their rocker arm kit to almost $400.00.
