Sure . . . if your definition of shoehorned is at least a turn or 2 behind the entire way, yea you were.

I have to say...as I read it.....initialy this thread was about respect that we all expect should rightfully come to our Z cars. Then somewhere along the way it became a Honda bashing thread with some tid bits about them being reliable and the punks who drive them.

I feel I must present the third dimension to this thread...being that no matter how extreme our Z's become or how painstakingly original they remain if we talk about respect coming to us and our Z cars from other drivers then can we actually extend the same courtesy to others?

The fact is that not all Z drivers are the same neither are their Z cars. My point is that there have been some people on this site that have raised a few eyebrows here and there. We reserved our feelings about the people but still felt the same way about their Z's. Some were down right reckless idiots that had no business being behind the wheel of a Z let alone any other vehicle being powered by anything other then their own skinny legs. Deserving little respect if any.

So boys and girls...we want respect for our Z regardless of how it looks, sounds or performs. To us... it kicks a$$ and wether we like to admit it or not most would appreciate any acknowledgement. So why all the Honda bashing? I fully understand the idea behind "jumping on the bandwagon" as everyone likes to belong but this is getting a bit too much. Is it the cars or the people who RICE them out!

....and to anyone who questions whether I am daydreaming about being a Honda owner or whatever, please read my signature before embarassing yourself! After all, it is all about Respect!

I think that more than anything, it's just about having a "common enemy" and having a little fun. I doubt anyone here would really deny that Honda builds a quality car. It's just fun to poke fun at the shameless over-the-top efforts some people will go through in order to "trick out" their Honda. I know for me, it's just good natured fun. I've owned a couple of Honda's myself over the years and they were great cars. They just weren't "Special" (unless you mean the kind of Special" like in the "Special Olympics"). Now ya see... That was funny Seriously though... I don't think anyone should stoop to mean spirited personal attacks when it comes to car choices. Hopefully we're all adult enough to keep it on the light side.

Canadians

I'm just playing with you Nuc

I think I tried to get at that above but it didn't quite come out as well as yours did I'd say you explained that rather well.

Besides, I was starting to feel bad for all the suckers who have honda's in their sigs with all this bashing

Hey and that is kinda funny how the thread title is 'Respect' and 95% of it has been nothing but disrespect for someone or something. I'd say that's irony (used correctly anyways)

It's only because you've never driven one (either?).

The S2000 doesn't make 'fun' torque until VERY high in the rpm range.

It's a 2900 lb car with 240hp and only 162 ft/lbs of torque at 6500 rpm! And it costs ~$34,000!

The 350Z makes 'fun' torque at a much more useable rpm range.

It only weighs 3200 lbs with 287 hp and 274 ft/lbs of torque at 4800 rpm and it only costs $31,000 for the Performance package.

If you want a convertible, the 350Z is only $34,500 with an extra 200lbs over the coupe.

In my mind, that's way more bang for the buck. One of the things I hate about my Honda is it sucks for torque. Even though I've got it 'hopped' up to 170 hp, it still only makes about 137 ft/lbs of torque!

All I'm sayin' Is that if you'd rather have the S2000, You must have some Yanni CD's in your collection because both his music, and that car put me to sleep.

How can you sleep through the wail you have to endure every time you drive that car Rod
9000RPM's ain't a quiet note. At least you can turn the volume down on Yanni

There is a really interesting thread on the whole Z33 VS. S2000 saga in the Z33 section. You guys should check it out. I think I killed the thread though, because after I posted... all the trash talk immediatly stopped.
