Removing chrome?

Removing chrome?
I was thinking of removing my chrome moulding so i can get it powder coated. The questions are;
1. How to remove the chrome moulding
2. can i still drive with out the moulding
3. how do I re-install once its powder coated?
4. Is it worth the hassle? I could just mask it off to sand and paint.
Thanx in advance Skittle

I've been riding around with my chrome trim off the windshield of the car for 3 months, with no leaks or windshield blowing out of the car. As soon as it is painted, i have the new clips to replace the windshield trim. PS the clips ain't cheap, especially from the dealer... ouch!!!

What NismoPick posted is correct - the upper windshield trim is basically held on with an adhesive, and the tabs help to break the the adhesive for easier removal when you pull them. The sides of the front windshield trim are attached by screws, as well as the upper trim around the doors - you can't see the screws unless you either lift or remove the weatherstripping.
For the side louvers (between the driver and passenger side windows and the rear windows), you need to pop off the plastic screw covers on the interior. Once you do, you'll see a threaded bolt, which you need to unscrew to remove the side louvers. Be very careful when removing those, cuz the upper trim on the louvers can break easily, as they're usually stuck with adhesive also.
