Pics of my 1981 280zx, all stock, daily driver
Ok, I washed her up and took some pics, here is my 1981 280zx 2-Door Coupe T-Top. Everything is original. This car has 212,000 miles and really runs great! It drips a bit of oil and burns a bit too, maybe a half quart a week. I have been driving over the Altamont Pass, about a 20 mile each way commute each way. This car just does great on the pass where you still get passed while going 80+ on a typical day. Anyway I really need some seats or a re-upholster job and I can't decide which way to go. I like the short back buckets, but I am thinking about some aftermarket seats also. I really like the idea of this being pretty much stock, are these 300 dollar seats cheesy? Will my fat ass fit in them? hehe Anyway here are the pics... Not bad for 1500?

Wow man, all I can say, that is a clean Z you got there. Almost looks new, props for the nice find. Keep it clean, and take care of it. They are really fun cars to own, and drive. And real easy to work on, for the most part.:)

Looks great!!

I like that car. I also would stick with the factory low back seats...I have them in my baby poo gold '82 and I have hi backs in my poo poo brown '79...my dad is about oh I'd say 300lbs + or + a few pounds and he says the low backs are wider and support him better...go for the re-upholstery from black dragon and save those babies.

Looks slick! You only paid 1500...? you got a steal in my book. Looks like it still even has the original exhaust.
BTW, did you do all those burnouts? lol |
WOW! The outside on that car looks absolutely phenomenal! If the photo's are only halfway true to it's actual appearance, you got a steal. Body work and rust repair are the most costly issues to address in these cars and that one appears flawless. Even if the interior is rough, it's WAY easier and cheaper to fix than rust.

In my book, the time savings would be worth it. Then, you can ask them to fit the seats specifically for you. Measure your azz so to speak! While you're at it, have them build up the side bolsters, lumbar and thigh bolsters. Give you the "wide" fit you need and the lateral/lumbar support to make it fun AND comfortable to sit in! |

Very nice!

That is a nice looking ZX!!

Still looks great @ 212k miles... with it burning oil, are you going to rebuild the motor, or just see how many miles you can put on it?
