from part's to projet.

the red car is my new Part's car. The body on it is almost perfect. -bumper side part's. two small rust spot's.(yes only two) inside if F***ked. but can be recarpeted. Motor run's great for 265,000. no busted glass. Driver T-Top was cracked. untill I got it home and found a third perfect T-Top in back. Need's rim's, paint, and that part's I took off it. Fuel pump, Alternator, Valcume lines. I am parking her. She (red car) will be my new project car. Blue one will be daily driver. I got the red car(runing) for 150$

Only $150, that's a pretty good car. Looks to be in good shape too, body wise anyways. Good luck with your new project.

Looks good, but quit taking pictures at night with no light!

The pathetic flash on those digital cameras suck.

Verry sweet deal Fubar for $150! And you even have a couple of snowflake turbo wheels on that sucker. Those are hard to find as it is. Good luck with your project, and keep us posted!

Yeh, The car came with three of the snowflake, I forgot one at the place I bought it.
As far as I know, the car was White from factory, red int, but if you pull up carpet in rear, it's white, and behind small spot's like tail lights, and hard to get to place's, the paint job is white.

So blue is out, red is steped up. ol red should be fired up in the next two three day's. it ran great before I took fuel pump and alternator off. Inter needs carpet. but can be done.

yeh, back seat's air't that cool in a 280, but I did not mind them to much. There are gona be times I will wish I had them. I am keeping the 280zx 2+2. Is it posible to pull off oil pan and remove crankchaft and gain accses to piston rod's on a L28E? I know you can on some motor's.

Yeah you're much better off pulling the motor out of the car. You don't want to risk damaging the crank by trying to pull it out from underneath the car. If you're just asking if you have to pull the head or not, then NO you don't have to take the head off to get the crank, rods, and pistons out.

Spent all day cleaning the car. riped out all old carpet, headliner, done alot of rewireing( there was alot of red neck chit in there) took the console out, cleaned it. put back in, repaired the vent's on dash, glove box also. put new T-Top straps in, put new pading and carpet in rear. Ready to put new carpet in front next week. Tommarrow I will be puting fuel pump, alternator, plug's, plug wire's, vaccume line's and got to bleed clutch, and replace E-Brake cables. I'd say projet is realy moving along. Will keep updated.

That's a lot of "chit" to do in one day. Dedication. I have a hard time sticking with anything that doesn't make the car faster

Good new's, And bad. Bad first. I did not get a damn thing done on the red Z. Good new's. I am freaking happy too. Blue Z is FIREING just no O'2 to crank, think my O2 thing is bad, half of it is melted. But she is no longer locking up dureing crank. I threatend her I would send her to the junk yard. and wham. she unlocked and started fireing instantly. god damn I am happy. will keep updated.

That's the spirit. Congratulations. So did you figure out what was wrong with it in the first place?

Yeah it can backfire out of the intake. Check to make sure all your plug wires are in right order and that timing is right. Sounds like you're backfiring out an intake valve to me. And that's almost always an ignition related problem. Though it can be mechanical on occasion (valve timing or valve stuck open).

have not got her to run yet, just crank. She sound's like she really want's to start. She's got gas, air, and spark. And one more thing, the computet thing that check's to see if there's anything wrong. Does the motor have to be runing for it to work, Cause i press the buttion, nothin happend's.

I think the ignition just has to be turned on to work. But it won't tell you anything about the engine. The only thing it keeps track of are fluid levels and whether your lights are working.
