Did you check the wiring? Is the red light on? The needle doesn't even move when rev'ing? Sounds like the oil pressure sensor....

If you actually had no oil pressure, it would not take long at all to know for sure.
My guess is the gauge or the wires to it. I don't like digital gauges for that reason. Old school pressure gauges are nice.

I'm not sure why you referred to digital gauges... are you thinking that the 83 digital dash had a digital oil gauge? Because it doesn't.

No...it sure doesn't. lol I have an '83 with the digital dash package. I'll probably fix it up and keep it original and sell it. Anyway back to the thread at hand. lol

Yeah I would say check the plug on the oil sender. May just need to bend the tabs (or contacts) a little. I had to to that on mine. And it sometimes will get loose on me. And like NismoPick said earlier. Could also be your oil sending unit itself. Oh...go ahead and check your fuse too. There is a fuse that runs those 3 gauges. Good luck man.

It's probably a loose connection on the oil pressure sending unit or the sending unit has just gone bad.

I meant electric, not digital. Sorry.

Yeah, I knew it was in the gauges to the side, not the digital cluster.
I meant, an actual pressure gauge that itself uses the pressure to move the needle.

I have gauge sets that I can plug into anything, in a ton of different ranges up to 20,000 psi.. When I have a doubt, I plug it in.

Sorry, I reread the post, and I didn't make it clear at all.
