Not Fixed!!!

Well, I thought I had it all worked out...
1st cold start since replacing all that crap and all I can say is that it definetly is not fixed. It was better, but still not right. When I started it, it did something new... you could definetly hear the air regulator give it a nice little bust, RPM's went way up for about 5 seconds, then it came back down and started to sputter. It has a certain miss when cold. I"m back to thinking fuel related at this point. Whatever it is, should be minor. I suspect maybe my CSV is the culprit or possibly an injector. They are all new, and the electrical plugs on them are all new, but I can't help but think one of them is failing.

I'm going to mess with it some more this evening. I'm also going to do JfairladyZ's AFM rebuild procedure. My buddy with the '79 had a very similar issue with his car. He called me yesterday afternoon and told me that he had pulled off virtually all the hoses and what not from the intake area and cleaned everything out really good then put it back together. When he fired it up afterwards, he said it was idling and running smooth as silk. I don't know... I guess I'll try the same thing and see if there's a build up of gunk somewhere. Updates to follow.

Rod.

After doing J's AFM rebuild myself, all I can say is "be careful with the gear placement". It seems to make a difference. I adjusted mine after the unit was on and still running to find the right point for the gear.

Also, and you KNOW this....just because somethings new doesn't mean it's good!! :D

Good luck to ya, brother!! :p
