New guy here, I saved her from almost certain death at the hands of an emo kid. It is a 2 seater with a manual transmission. The power windows and power mirrors even work! With a little work and TLC, I got her back on the road and running well. Hoping to have some sideways fun with her very soon.

Wahoo! Welcome to ZDriver! :038:

What's up w/ that link you posted?

CrimsonShadow 12-28-2008 11:40 AM

Oh, I copy and pasted some from my thread on our home forum with the Wikipedia link so I didn't have to answer a million questions for people who didn't know about the car. Guess I forgot to edit it out.

welcome to zdriver where the only emo thing you will encounter is snwphat540's hair!!!!

any plans?

CrimsonShadow 12-28-2008 11:45 AM

What No Emo tight pants? lol
My Plans are to fix a couple more things, get her reliable and sell her to a local who wants to fully restore it or use it for SCCA/NASA track days or drifting. It is a good car that I didn't want to see in a junk yard so I snatched it up and brought her back from the dead. I don't really have room for her at the house...

your gonna resto a car thats going to be turned into a track car? or are you just making it a reliable chassis? cause id hate to see good interior be tracked down by one owner just to be thrown out by another, but then agian it is a j-yard find...

good luck, and if you have any questions feel free to ask, they might get answered

Welcome to Z-Driver...where r u located? just curious. Do you have pics of the interior? Nice looking ZX!!!:icon_super:

CrimsonShadow 12-29-2008 05:50 PM

The car will be a drift car. The interior is pretty much gone, I am going to strip it to the metal. The bits that are still good will stay in the car. Clean metal looks better than dry rotted crap IMO. I am in Phoenix btw

280zx2by2 12-29-2008 06:21 PM

are you making it a drift car? cause i have to let you in on a little secret...
s130s dont make good drift cars w/o ALOT of work, the stock suspension was designed to have ALOT of travel (spongey) as it is more of a touring car than i true sports car...

there is a hole thread either hear or on hybrid about why s130s dont make good drift cars but i cant find it (nismo a little help?)

you know that youtube video of the s130 drift car? it had more work done to it then most cars out there yet it couldnt keep up with the angle of the other chassis out there but then again it was a 2+2

but i would LOVE to see a 280zx drift car

I dunno, I did some "drifting" when I first got my Z on the road with horribly old tires. It did pretty well and was easy to hold out there/control. But I could see there being some problems that have been talked about in other threads.

snwbrderphat540 12-30-2008 12:03 AM

hey now.... theres NOTHING emo about my hair, only my pants and music preference. jerk face. also, im a freaking genius!!!! so doesnt even matter lol.

also, better off keeping it instead of trying to sell it. what did you buy it for and put into it so far? (price wise) cause unfortunatly the s130 (79-83 z's) are not very popular so its very hard to make your money back on one unless its something special.
