New fuel pump = no start
Hello, long time no talk (suprising if anyone remembers me). Today after a day of laying down underneath my Z changing the fuel pump the car wouldn't start. Before it would stall intermitantly so I figured it must be the problem. Sadly this is a simple process that I feel I have failed. If anyone could give some words on what the problem may be, in my Z or myself, that would be great thanks.

a little more descriptive would be highly effective in your post. is the z cranking over? need to check if its actually getting fuel. do you hear it kick on? what about spark.

relay could have gone bad, its pretty easy to check if you have a voltmeter or a dohicketywiresplickety thing to test it out. its near the battery under the 2 johnson&johnsons black vitamin containers

Yesss less vauge. The fuel pump doesnt buzz after I turn the key on to prime or whatever. Also everything is normal such as cranking and spark wise. So I can only assume there is something funky with the fuel pump, relay or wiring.

i dunno how to test the relay besides with a voltmeter you can try testing the continuity of the fuel power wire to the harness but from what i read, the relays go bad quickly especially if its a stock one. my uneducated $.02 would be that its probably the relay but i'm not very smart so ask one of the guys around here that have 5K posts :D |
