Negative battery cable
 

Simple question but still has me wondering. What is the negative battery cable connected to in your car? I finally put my car back together (with the exception of hooking the battery back up) but now to save my life I can't remember where the negative cable goes. It has the eyelet in the middle of the wire that I have bolted to the side of the battery tray, but where does the one on the end go? To a bellhousing bolt or something? It's not really long enough to go anywhere else...

Great. That's what I was thinking too, kind of looks like it should go there but I have never seen a setup like that before on other cars I've owned so I wanted to double check.

That's weird - mine connects to the negative terminal on the battery....

oh yea the stock negative cable also goes to the chasis in the middle of the cable then to the starter..... if you don't have a terminal in the middle of the cable then it's not the stock one. You should have a solid connection to the chasis AND the starter....
