This is my progress...
i need help on wiring guys
The 8 pin connector by the ecu. The YW wire that you are suppose to use, on my harness the wire is solid white. Is it still the same wire?
The 6 pin connector by the battery. the LR wire that goes to the fuel pump relay, does anyone know where to attack it on a 79 zx?

you mentioned that yellow wire on the 6 pin connector needs to be rewired for the temp gauge where does this wire to?
On the ignition switch the BW is that the signal for the switched ignition? Is there where i connect the Y from the 8 pin connector?
One more thing to ask. WHERE IS THE CONNECTER FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY...? (might be a stupid question, BUT I DONT KNOW!)

For the Temp guage Y wire I'm not sure if it's part of the ECU harness on the 79 or not. But the wire should run from the back of the instrument cluster to the temperature guage. If not just splice a wire between the instrument cluster Y wire and the temperature sender.
On the Ignition switch wiring: No the BW wire does not splice to the 8 pin Y wire. There should be a Y wire on the ignition switch. This is the wire you splice to the Y wire from the 8 pin connector. The BW goes to the coil and the ignition relay.
And finally the fuel pump relay in your 79 harness doesn't have a connector the way the 82-82 does. You'll have to splice your LR wire into the GW wire at the fuel pump relay which is under the passenger side dash. I'm not sure if you can get to it by removing the lower panel or not. You may have to remove the glove box. Its in a cluster of I think 3 relays. It should have a B, WB, GW, and G wires going to it. You need to splice the GW wire.
EDIT: On the Y wire to the ignition switch: If you dont want to get under the dash and splice there you can splice into the Y wire going to the starter solenoid. It's the same circuit/same wire. That would make it a little easier.

sorry one more question. With the fusible links, i just take out my NA and put it into the turbo case right? What happens to to the brown green wire from the harness?
or
Am i just suppose to use what i have in the 79 right now? and just cut out the fusible link box off of the turbo harness?
Hey we should also make a write up on the turbo swap on the differnent years of the s130 on your site jfairlady so that the confusion is gone. On my 79 the FPR is behind my glove box in back right.

The fuse links should be a direct swap. You can use either the turbo or NA ones. It doesn't matter. Colors may have changed but I'm pretty sure the links themselves in function stayed the same.
And correct on the pump relay, right where you said.
As far as the write up goes, if you're willing to put one together I'll gladly use it. I'd do one myself but I'm pretty much just using all the wiring from the turbo car. I had an entire parts car and just pulled all the wiring. The only wiring I'm really retaining from the NA is the dash wiring, which only required me to splice in one extra wire for the oil temperature guage. I went with an aftermarket boost gauge so I only have to worry about wiring up the lighting to it since it relies on a direct vacuum signal to function.

id be glad to make a write up on a 79 since thats whay im actually working on. I dont know the differneces in other years. As far as my fusible links go, between the 79 and 83 there is a differnece. There is an extra wire WR this wire goes to
the ignition relay
the ignition relay
W - Splice off to Alternator and also to Accessory Relay, Ignition relay, to an A/C fuse (not fuse box), and then finally to the fuse box
R - Goes to the Fuse Box
WB - Goes to Fuel Pump Relay and then on to the ignition relay.
Then you've got the links that come off of the turbo harness.
Br - To the EFI relay (in fender behind battery)
G - To the ECU.
Thats the 83 turbo wiring of the fuse box. The R and WB wires are groupe to the same connector as are the Br and G wires.
I dont have a 79 harness so I dont know about the wiring there but this should help you to figure it out. Remeber the fues links are just to supply power. So as long as everything gets the power it needs then it's all good. The connector to the links box for the R and WB wires has an extra connector if you need to add in an extra wire.

Ok, I figured it out for you. On your fuse link box you have an extra WR wire. This wire goes to the Ignition Relay. On the Turbo harness instead of using that WR wire to the ignition wire it just uses the W wire and splices it off to the Ignition relay. On your 79 harness that W wire simply goes to the Accessory relay and doesn't splice up to the Ign. relay. So you simply leave everything there as is. Don't mess with the WR wire cause it's going where you need it to.
Are you using the EFI relay from the Turbo harness or the EFI relay from your 79? They are different and not directly compatible without some minor rewiring. Let me know which one you are using and I can tell you what you need to do.

Ok this is what you need to do then:
Splice the BW wire that runs to the 6 prong connector to the LY wire that normally ran to the 79 EFI relay.
You no longer need the L or the LW wires that go to the fuse link box. remove these and replace them with the Br and the G wires from the turbo harness.
Thats it. Everything else is contained within the turbo harness and requires no further wiring.
Any wires that normally ran to the 79 EFI relay that I did not mention above are no longer needed.

And just to ease your mind about the rest of the wires that went to your 79 EFI relay, heres the breakdown:
LW: Went to the fuse link box.
L: Went to the fuse link box.
R: Went to the 79 ECU.
B: This is replaced by the B wire in the turbo EFI relay.
LY: explained in above post.
G: Went to the dropping resistors and/or injectors. The turbo harness runs the wire to the injectors directly from the ECU so you dont need this wire.

Hey man I'm glad you figured out those projectors. I haven't been on here since you sent me that PM so my appologies for leaving you without any answers. As you probably found out you will need to cut a notch in the bracket that is directly behind the headlight so that the ignitor on the back of the bulb will fit in there without the entire assembly sitting too far forward.
Great work on everything else on the car too!
