Take your pick: 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX. :)

Might help to list our part number you bought. Was it a universal kit or a specific made kit?

sepulvedajoseph 01-05-2014 06:32 PM

ahhh i knew i forgot something .... its a 79 280zx Na and the set that i bought was to a specific type of car and as part number goes i dont know because once i saw that it didnt fit i took it back. But me and my bro were thinking i could get the msd set that is made for his 64 chevy c10 I/L 6 and put it on the ZX.

If you want good spark plug wires (and really why wouldn't you) get a set of Magnecores. They are more than a set of cheapies but you get pretty much the best wires you can get.

magnecore is the way to go. they aren't much more than bosch or ngk.

never mind.... what coil would i use then ?

rogerz 01-07-2014 07:08 AM

coil got nothing to do with the wires. you need to to do some study on what does what on a car. supulveda is that some kind of california air head city

I agree on wires from Magnecor. Their race wires are larger diameter than you need but they are custom cut for you when you order on line or from their catalog. Don't let a store or some other web site order them for you - the store takes a piece of the price and may get poorer service than you will directly on line. Everything will fit perfectly, too. The end of your plug wire problems.

lol i was just going to order them from horsepowerfreaks !

Someone needs to get Magnecore to build a set that goes in front of the valve cover instead of over it...

zxguy1986 01-07-2014 11:40 PM

wow, Fric. My new ones go in front, not over. They came numbered too so I'm sure I put 'em on right. Think you got a wrong set? If you call 'em up and describe the issue, bet they send you a fix. I think I ordered on the phone too. Made sure there was no screw up.

rogerz 01-08-2014 12:44 AM

actually now that you mention that I had to send them a pic from another z31 to get mine right

sepulvedajoseph 01-08-2014 09:13 PM

i know i might be off topic but once i order the wires . Could i run the blaster sc coil from msd on the 79 280zx with out a ballast resistor or is it still needed ?
