minor issue
alright since i have owned this car in november its kinda done this thing where it surges slightly while i am driving steadily down the road, doesent matter the gear and i have been told this is called "hunting" where the computer is trying to find a good mixture. think of light quick jabs on the gass pedal while your driving, it gives that sort of feeling except my foot is steady.
i have cleaned the AFM, there isnt an O2 sensor, it does it at any temp and its just mildly annoying but if i can fix it i will. i was wondering would a air temp sensor or water temp (before "CHTS" even though its pretty much the same thing) cause this? what about a minor leak in the exhaust/intake gasket? (very minor) if not any ideas? |
those two temp sensors could cause it i expect. you could test them.
and there is no O2 sensor? that sounds like a problem in its self..... |
in my service manual it even says not all of them had a o2 sensor, theres no hook up for one and theres no bung for it on my car
|
what year car? also the CHTS can very well cause problems mine was bad on my 260ZT and would cause it to flood out every now and then
|
Have you checked the TPS? My Z used to do the same until I adjusted it.
|
that was another question, is the TPS really a TPS or is it just a switch that really doesent do much untill ts fully open or closed?
as for the CHTS question, its a '79 so its the water temp |
