jim wolfe up grade package

Are you talking about the turbocharger? The ECU? Or the whole 550hp package?
To answer all three:
-There are cheaper solutions these days. Back in the late 90's / early 00's there weren't any other options. For the turbo, you can get your stock T3 upgraded to a T3/T4 hybrid for about $350, or just get a Holset for $200-$400. As for the ECU, yes the JWT ecu is a great upgrade, but pricey and still not tunable. For less than the price of the JWT full package, you can have a tunable Megasquirt setup. Kurk MacKay (FricFrac) sells full MS kits.
If you are looking for some mid-level upgrades, the Z31T ecu swap is about as easy and cheap as it gets. Add an intercooler and boost controller and it will wake right up. See: https://www.zdriver.com/forums/280zx...ownload-41529/
