Installing amp
Installing amp
Ok, so i just bought my 82 280zx and i'm installing an after market radio. after about 7 hours, i got all new speakers in and head unit. now i would like to install my sub and amp. but i cant find where in the firewall i could put the hot wire and i dont really want to drill but i will if i have too. thanks
I put mine through my fender, tomorrow i'll take some pictures for you when it's light outside if you'd like.
Mine goes into a hole right next to the fuses on the passenger side underneath the plastic trim. It then pops out up where the other wires for the door's windows/mirror come out and it then goes into the fender where there happens to be another hole leading to the engine bay...
Took a bit of time to do it but no one has ever noticed it.

Here is where mine is running through the firewall, it is a 4 gauge wire so I think you should have no problem with anything of this size and smaller....notice the auto tranny dipstick for location of this hole on an 82 280zx:
