how many quarts of oil does a 79 zx hold?

Yeah... 5 quarts. I forgot that I have an oil cooler.

Its actually like 5.4 but 5 is all you need.

I think another way to find out is USING THE OIL DIPSTICK. But that's just my personal preference

Therm, put in 4.5 and check the stick. If she needs more give her more. It's always easier to add then it is to take it out. The longer you let her drain the more you're going to be able to put back in.
