how do the hydrolic cam liffter thing work on the 280? what makes it diffrent from just normal lifters?

 

Welcome to ZDriver! It's not the cam that is hydraulic... it's the lifters. They use the oil pressure to maintain proper gap between the rockers & cam. The mechanical (non hydraulic) ones don't. They need to be manually set.
