Holy crap, is this for real?

Stick on my 78 Z 2+2 says it weighs 3500 lbs! I thought my Avenger was heavy at 3000 lbs... holy crap. I was under the impression that first gen Z's (even the 2+2's) were under 3100 lbs... that kinda sucks. lol

If you're A/C don't work, You can drop some wheght there. Look for ways to drop weight, and you can drop her to under 3100

3500 is maximum total weight with payload.
A 280 2+2 dry weight is 3080 pounds. If you weigh 300 lbs then the total weight with driver, gas, and oil would be around 3500.

No it doesn't.

Your tag tells you what the total "Gross Vehicle Weight Rating" is or how much the total car can weigh including a full tank of gas, passengers and cargo.

Your Z is rated to carry 3600 total pounds of weight including the car and everything inside it.

It probably weighs in the neighborhood of 3000 lbs or a little over. That being said, you can carry approximately 600 additional pounds of payload. This would include the passengers and any cargo.

Water weighs in at 8.34 pounds per gallon. Gas should be pretty close...

Mine weighs more than yours does (in the whinniest voice you can imagine)

And damn lww, is that an S30 or a S130? Or is that the rolling chassis in your sig that you're talking about? 2150 would be a nice weight. Would help with the gas mileage too

It's the '72 240z.

My 280ZXT is a bit heavy even with the weight reduction getting it down to about 2800lbs, but I haven't gotten it on the scales yet. Motor and tranny is out so it wouldn't be fair to weigh it right now...
