grab a 12mm socket and about a 1ft+ of extension snap it on your ratchet and go to town. You'll have to remove the vertical heatshield that attaches to the underside of the intake manifold. The shield that is sandwiched between the intake and exhaust manifolds does not need to be removed. You should be able to fit your hands in there to feel for the bolts and then feed you socket/extension in over the bolt head and just loosen them. You dont have to remove the bolts, just loosen them. Then, after you've unscrewed the EGR tube, the intake manifold will just lift off (as long as you removed all the wires and hoses).

disconnect the EGR pipe from the big bolt on the bottom of the EGR... or just unscrew it from the manifold. I couldn't get that big huge bolt out of the intake manifold either.

There are six bolts that you need to get out that share the flanges for the intake. You can see the three in the middle hold only the exhaust. These are pictures of my engine out of the car. the turbo and NA have the bolt locations the exact same way.

Step One: Soak with PB Blaster. Let it sit, then soak it some more. Put a wrench on the nut and give it a couple whacks with a hammer. If it still wont come loose then give it a lil' more PB and go to town with the hammer on the wrench. Just be care full that you dont let the wrench slip. Round off those edges and you may never get that sucker out. I dont really advise using an adjustable wrench if you can avoid doing so cause its more likely to slip.

There's no stuck or rounded nut or bolt that can't be removed with a little MIG... Welder that is!
