Hatchback

I am trying to get a new hatch back for my 2 seater, (280zx, 81) and found one that was in good shape, but it is from a 2+2, will this work out for me?

nope!

But all 2-seater 280ZX hatches will work. 1979-83 only.

The older 240Z or 280Z will not work, and the 300ZX will not work.

Doh... too bad you live in FL. I've had a 2seater hatch sitting behind my garage for about 5 years now.

Check www.car-parts.com

And welcome to ZDriver!

Well you know I'm always good for free parts when I pay shipping.

Shipping would be a bear... and I doubt the glass would make it to you in one piece.

2 years ago I had two 2-seater rear hatches I was trying to sell locally.
They were hard to sell at even $20 each! Had them priced at 40 first... kept lowering it. People are looking for immaculate parts though with absolutely no rust or dings!

anyway, I did get rid of them. I think I sold one for $20, gave the other one away that had a tiny bit of rust.

Well I put pictures of it in the Zgarage there, and it is clear the most rust of the car is on that one piece. I will have to bondo other parts, but that will be a lot of work to get right.

I used to have one that I bondo'ed a huge spot on the back drivers side, and when the car was totaled my mechanic called and asked if it was mine because the bondo was the only part that wasn't bent up. That stuff lasts!

I did just that. I hope he has one.

I am always looking for places like that!

Also: I got a brake line leak going on so hopefully that turns out to be less than it sounds like. I will know today. I may have overflowed the thing to much or something stupid, but I put some in there, pumped the brakes and then drove around the block, when I came back home it was about pouring out of the bottom of the car. Right below the drivers seat.

Hummmm

Thanks again for that link.
