Newbie question!
I am gutting my 280zx to put a roll cage in. I hear people speak about "tar" in the car that should be removed. What is that?

Is that the brown paint on the metal?

Do I have still have "tar" in my 280zx?

 

Tar is the old insulation they used. It looks like you still have it on the floors. Its hard to remove, but if you use dry ice and freeze it, it chunks right off.
