get more hp on my 280zxt

i have a 1981 280zx turbo with t5 trans. have a stage 3 clutch, intercooler and piping.. what will be a good fuel pressure and injectors to put the stock boost from 6/7psi to 10/15lbs.. and would it be better to get a different turbo or get a rebuilt original turbo.. or any other suggestions to increase hp on my 280zx thanks

Tune up. anything more then stock and you need custom EFI management, bigger turbo, bigger injectors, downpipe and exhaust to accommodate the bigger turbo...etc If you want to go the easy route, you could go with the z31 EFI swap and be safe to about 10psi and gain the benefits of a MAF.

You can run 10psi boost on a pure stock setup. I actually can't believe you installed an intercooler and you're still running stock boost. :D

fuel pressure stays the same, you just need more volume. for now stock is fine, it will keep up. on a stock ecu upgrading the injectors just wont do much. the ecu cant control it at all.

The stock turbo is good for import power in its day, but you gotta step up in the world.

Electronic boost controller, walbro 255, larger injectors

and you need a larger turbo, the stocks will not put out much higher than what you're looking at

even my rb20 stops putting out at like 9lbs stock

It isn't even so much that the stock turbo can't put out that amount of boost, but it will be very hot and innefficient. And you get the chance of the boost dropping in higher RPM range. Also, if you want bigger injectors and run 15psi and make use of it, you most likely can't use the stock ECU setup anymore. Go standalone or like hoov said go Z31 ECU swap, then you can even get nistune on it for tuning.

Expect to spend a pretty penny making your L28et push to what you want it to

Convert to RHD and get an even BIGGER turbo!

Boost until you throw a rod, like JDM, yo!
