Hi, my 81 280zx isn't starting. The fuel pump relays turn on after it sits for awhile then the cars runs, then the car died and relays don't come on. I have checked all the grounds, relays, wiring. Think it's just a bad pump? I bought a new one just thought I check for any suggestions. Relays are new.

 

Check your ECU, I had the same issue. My fuel pump was running hot due to the after market filter the was placed in between the pump and the fuel tank was clogged. My pump ran hot and would whine, it ended up burning some circuit in my ecu. I bought a second ecu and my fuel pump worked. I sent my primary ecu to Jim Wolf and they repaired it.
