Fuel pump issues

Ok so while im driving around like a short trip there is no problems, but if the trip is long .. There is a humming (louder than regular)sound from the back, my car wants to stall out when Im stopped at a light. So to keep this from happening ,I shift to neutral and rev a little. This keeps my car from stalling out. I was wondering if this ment my fuel pump was going bad or that the fuel dampener might be the one in need of replacement?

Sounds more like the filter to me.

Well I changed the filter two years ago.. havent driven that much but It wouldnt hurt to start at the cheaper end.

How much fuel is in the tank? :D

And yes... start with the basics... when was the last tune up / check over?

sounds like alot of problems on here are fuel related lol

you might also be having a suction problem. blow back thru the hose to gas tank. best done with as little gas in the tank as possible. have you placed a fuel pressure gage in the fuel ring to find out what is really going on. guessing is expensive. fpr can also be iffy.
