If you like the stock stereo but need your iPod, you got to get one of these Audiovox FM Modulators (fmm-100). It plugs into your antenna wire and lets you hardwire tap into your current audio system. On my Z it took a full day pulling the radio and deciding where to install. I ended up using a wire tie and tucking it behind the passenger kick panel, it fit just fine (see pic below) and there was enough reach for the antenna and for power/ground. There is a switch the you use to switch from the radio to the modulator and I mounted that next to the cassette player in the dash (see pic) the switch BTW has a red tip, what are the odds! hehe So cool man! I ran an RCA-to-mini 8 mm patch cable out behind the radio and out in front of the shifter, not sure where this will end up maybe in the center console, totally stealth!
