Is it true that the emergency brake gets stuck on 82 280zx?? Should I get it hooked back up. The guy who owned this car before me had it every since it was brand new and told me about the e-brake. :confused: :confused:

Yes, these cars have a history of park brake lock-up. It's generally related to corrosion of the cable inside the plastic sheath.

The solution is to replace the cable.

Yup, my 82 has one side disconnected right now. I hope one of the parts car I have has a decent cable. New ones are still available. I think they're about $120 from Nissan.

Yeah I have trouble with mine on my '82. But it doesn't engage. It is real loose. Not a big deal anyway!

if its loose you can adjust it. The adjusting bolt is in the center of the car where the cable front the handle meets the cable that goes between the two calipers.

ya last time i was under red i seen what was wrong with mine it looked the end peice has broke off.................... $120 .dam i was hoping it would only be $60 to $80 :(
