ok guys so my 79zx is having problems, the main problems are the car will have problems turning over until the third of fourth crank an or until i step on the gas peddle to give it gas it would idle rough too, when i drive it it sputters and has a loss of power until im above the 20mph speed. the car gets pretty hot (car is black) the car also feels as if it turns off on me sometimes. so get this i was on the freeway a week ago and it died on me while i was driving and all of a sudden as i was signalling out of the freeway the car starts back up like nothing. OK here is what ive done to "fix" my problem(s), Ive put a new mass air flow to throttle boot, a new gas pressure regulator, new spark plugs, the cap and router are new, i got a Coolant temp sensor (for what i thought was a hot start problem did help), I checked the gas pressure its at 30psi as it should be, i adjusted the timing to 10 where it should be, also got a new gas filter and today i got a new ignition coil. Ive also cleaned all the sensor connections as instructed with dw40 and a toothbrush SOOoooo with all that said im left to two things that i think might be the problem the Air Flow Meter and the IC module the symptoms my car still have is loss of power suptering as if it shuts off or wants to die out and when i closed the hood after trying to see what might be the problem the car turned off on me... T.T any insight or advice as to what might also be causing this to my z would be much welcomed is their any way to check if the ic module is no good or the AFM.. I really need help guys let me know what you guys think and what i can do to get this car running like a champ

 

Check the forum "It's fixed!!!" and if that sounds just like your problem or remotely close, it could be your IC control mod.
