What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting? How about most miles per tank?
I've had my 82 N/A for a month now, and I drive about half state highways and half country roads / city. The first tank I ran through I went 397 miles and it figured out to 26.4mpg. Not bad, but I didn't think it would ever come close to the 28-29mpg average I got in my old '86 Celica.
I experimented with different shift points for a couple of tanks (only got 25mpg shifting at 3000), then decided to try shifting below 2500rpms and babying it again....
I filled up today after 481 miles on that tank of gas. Good ol' whatsername didn't tell me "FUEL LEVEL IS LOW" until 479 miles. It figured out to a little over 28mpg!! I'm happy....
Maybe if I park my JEEP in the barn for 4 years it will come out getting good mileage too..... it struggles to get 18mpg...............
How do your cars do on fuel?

Man... 28mpg! Thas nice for a 280zx! I'm rollin around 15mpg... cuz she's always @ about 10psi boost.
FYI... your shift points kinda make a diff... but the biggest things to get better fuel econ... lay off the throttle!!! The farther down you push the gas petal, the richer it runs (more rich = more fuel)
Another way: don't speed! 55 - 65 mph gets the best gas mileage... faster than that, the car has to use more fuel to cut thru the air resistance.

Yeah they say every 5 mph over 60mph is like paying 10cents more per gallon
I only get about 17mpg on the highway with my 3.9 and 4spd manual. My gas actually last longer around town as I don't see the high rpm's I have to reach to keep up with traffic. Plus there's the fact that driving a Z slow is like abuse. If you baby her to much she'll throw a fit and not want to be driven. So I let her have it on the backroads here just to let her know she's loved

I average around 25MPG when my car is running correctly (Which it isn't right now). When I drove it to Florida and back last year, it got remarkably good mileage despite the fact that I was ***** out most of the time. I still say that most CannonBall or Gumball racers would envy my return trip time. 2,461 Miles in 36 hours with a stop for the night in a hotel along the way. Not bad for a 25 year old car with 230,xxx miles on it at the time. I left Tallahassee Fl at 5:30 AM on Friday and was at my shop in San Diego Ca at 2:30PM on Saturday. Only had to gas up 5 times in between. This is why I love my Z so much.

You should actually calculate it, don't rely on the voice warning. Fill up the tank, reset the trip meter. The next time you get gas fill it up again and then divide the miles traveled by the gallons put in.
I recently calculated mine at 22.7 and I've gotten anywhere from 21-24 since I've had the car. On one road trip to Canada I got 27mpg.

i drove from my car from AZ to FL then to VA and finally to NY about a month and a half ago. after i left Orlando i got all the way deep into NC before i had to fill up. my odometer doesn't work but on the map that was somewhere around 600 miles. i was amazed when i realised that i was getting in the vicinity of 30mpg out of the Z

115 mph is only 3rd gear in my car!

That was with a Nissan NA 5-speed at 7000 rpm with a 3.545 diff and 275/50/15's.
It should actually be lower now that I've got the T5 installed, but I haven't put it on the track to see.
Have to wait for it to get out of the shop before I can do anything with it... ;(
