Coolant Leakage

Ok so I found the source of the leak, drained the radiator and and ready to replace the part. Only problem is I have no idea what part this is or where the best place to get a new one would be.

And yes I had to cut part of the hose because the screw was stripped.

Drum roll.......

It's a "T". You can get one from Nissan, AutoZone, Checker, Kragen, Napa, the junk yard, etc etc etc. Or you could probably make your own.

<used to be the same. but orileys got used to the Z seeing it out side when i came in. I droped all that t stuff. more connections, the more prone to leak. Don't get another one with plastic. all metal.

it so annoying cause auto form some reason doesnt pull up datsun and it is habit for me to say that it is datsun rather than nissan so most of the time they dont want to work with me to look things ups i have to really press them on it

Let us know where you find one. Mine leaked too, but I just put JB Weld all over the bottom of it, covering the plastic/metal junction. I wasn't sure if it was anything more than a "T" - it looked like it had some kind of valve on the inside so I didn't want to replace it with something different.

Yeah, I sort of thought you had to know something about cars to work at autozone/advance/whatever. After a couple of visits... not so much...

it does have a valve in it. serves no real purpose. just replace with reg T. and let the engine get better cooling.

Most all the parts stores have basic coolant T's. Bring yours in, match the size, buy the part, install. Wa-la!

Rising Sun is pretty much right down the street from me. Anyway, they're good for parts, I've bought a flywheel and clutch from them when I was doing work on my 510.

There's a junkyard with a couple Z's out here in 29 palms. I can take a look and see if i can find the part for you.

Ok So I am going out this weekend to get the T and buy new coolant but I wanted some recommendations on what type of coolant I should get. Looking for good quality and price I really don't need anything for racing cause thats not what I am planning on doing.
