Clutch & Flywheel questions...

So on November 24th 2009 I lost the clutch in my S130 Coupe' a friend and I took our sweet-@$$ time in the replacement of said clutch but due to fail & budget reasons I went with the el-cheapo autozone clutch kit for $99.95 now the way I drive this thing already sounds like it falling apart, it only got 5300 miles on it since the clutch was swapped so I heard that the S130 2+2 flywheel has a bigger surface area for the clutch if this is the case does anybody have a 2+2 flywheel they would be willing to part with for a modest fee including shipping or if yer here in WA I can come get the damned thing... I am barely pushing 140rwhp on my zed and I keep it high in the RPM 4500-6k on average but the MSD rev-limiter is set for 6500 I should set it for 5500 to save my valves but thats neither here nor there...

and yes a MSD 6AL DOES work on a 280ZX </nerd>

and just for $#!7$ & Grins...

Unless you were dumping the clutch at 6k rpms every time you switched gears, or unless it was installed incorrectly, I don't see how the clutch failed just 5300mi into use. The AZ stock replacement is just as good as OEM, and it should also have a warranty on it too. Maybe it's just the throw out bearing or slave?

Also... yep, the 6AL does work on 280zx's... I'm running one & several others are too. The limiter has saved my butt several times.

i got a 6a in mine, figured if it blows, i can build it for more power next time!!! i got lots of the police stickers, used to build crown vics for the police, we took those off to make them stand out that little bit less. as far as the clutch, ive had cheap ones not even grab right out of the box, the spring pressure was so poor it wouldnt hold anything. i could move them by hand with a bit of effort. my centerforce is impossible to move by hand.

Yeah we had to use an ignitor from a 1981 TE72 Toyota Corolla for the MSD to work for my car, however as for my clutch the pedal feels softer than my last Zx but I am using an earls ss braided line a new slave cyl and a new clutch were all put in at the same time go fig

There is a 280ZX 2+2 auto that's going to be crushed if you want to drive up to Vancouver Island to pick it up
