Arrow Can this be the reason why?

When I did my tranny conversion from AT to MT, I had to install the clutch/break assembly cage (the one that goes under the dash), and I was able to get the clutch pedal's distance properly aligned. One thing that I never looked at was the break pedal distance from the firewall, and here's why I'm asking about this.

I think, can't quite recall, that ever since then, I've had about 1" to 1.5" of play in my break pedal. What I mean is, I put slight pressure on the break pedal and I have this play on it, then as I apply greater pressure on the pedal it seems to properly engage the booster or whatever it engages as I use proper force.

I've been working on the breaks and I know I've bled the lines properly, and the same goes for the mc, but I just realized of the 'play in the pedal'.

Any ideas or suggestions?

the push rod for both the clutch and brake pedal has an adjustment.
Check it. You may just be out too far

Thanks man, I'll check on it this weekend.

Not to start another thread, but what do you guys think about upgrading to a 90MM throttle body?
I saw Pallnet sells a kit with a tb spacer kit as well, but I've been reading several conflicting suggestions on several ZX forums. Some are saying that the performance increase is not worth the time and money spent, so I wanted to get input from some of you.

There is absolutely no need for a 90mm TB on a non-turbo 280zx. There's not even a need for one on a turbo.

Ok.

Nismo, would you care to expand on that? Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to learn the reasons behind your answer.

#1... The engine doesn't flow that much air.

#2... Just enlarging the TB doesn't do anything anyway... you'd need the larger AFM, connector boots, port the intake neck, runners, and head... otherwise the air will bottleneck at some point.

It's been discussed before, and dyno results prove just adding a larger TB doesn't do anything.

I think he meant a 60mm Throttle Body, not 90mm. The 60mm is questionable, the 90mm is completely pointless and it won't fit on an L28 manifold anyway.

Oops, yeah, I meant the 60mm.

Ok, thanks for the explanation.

I declare this thread officially close!

Reason why my break pedal had all that 'play' was because I goofed up and forgot to insert the break pedal pin...once I found the pin....everything's good now.
