If you want to bypass the heater core, you can just take a small piece of piping and attach the two hoses that run into the firewall together. Your blower will still work, but you just won't have any heat or a/c.

can i just remove the hoses and take off the whole a/c set up |
Correct, just connect the two hoses together. Removing the a/c is ok too, but if the freon gas is still present, you'll need to have it professionally evacuated before removing the components. Otherwise it's just removing the condenser, a/c compressor, dryer and the associated hoses for it.

My goodness son...
What happens to the belt you have to remove? I dunno... maybe it will sit on your garage floor, work table, or maybe make it's way to the garbage can. |

When in Rome. :D
I sounded a bit harsh, I apologize. You don't do anything with the belt since it only runs the a/c compressor. Just leave it off. I get sarcastic when people ask uber-duper-super basic questions that can be answered by a Google search, or by flipping open the free FSM. But it's okay because we are here to help.:023: |

one of the copper lines is still connected the the raidator.. so do i plug up the copper line??
|
its the a/c receiver drier and sight glass.. so the copper line is connected to the drier and to the radiator.. so do i take off the copper line and plug up the hole?
|
I believe you are talking about the a/c condenser in front of the radiator. Nothing from the a/c attaches to the radiator.

< in a nice, soft, tender voice >
I take it you still haven't opened the FSM or Google? The radiator is not connected to the a/c system. Like Evan said, it's a condenser... and you remove it if you want to............... http://www.2carpros.com/images/artic...ner_system.gif |
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...al/whatjpg.jpg As you can see, your AC lines do not go into your radiator. |
