burny coolant smell

its been a while since i've driven my Z how ever i did finally find a job and i already got a raise at that job and i also just sold my ****ing blazer, i'm going to buy something else but i need something in the mean time so i am gonna drive the Z

its been sitting for the better part of a year, started when ever i thought about it but never had any difficulties starting.

i'm noticing a burney coolant smell, cant find and leaks, arent any bubbles comming through the system like exhaust gasses, heater core isnt leaking nor is that funky valve. i smell it more under the hood than any thing else.

any thoughts?

mmmm....not really.

i mean it goes down but not any faster than any other good running car, just the general top off ammount
i did have to replace a hose on the passenger side of the engine that had sprung a leak and i lost alot of coolant then but that was about a year ago and although the cars been sitting for the better part of a year it has been start up and run so i would figure it should have most of the bubbles worked out of it by now

What the? A GOOD running car should not lose ANY coolant.

So are you or are you not losing coolant?

Its the heater core. For whatever reason they kinda weep coolant sometimes and you can smell a funky coolant odor in the air. and its even stronger when you turn your heater on.
